This following show how to upgrade & downgrade MariaDB on CentOs 7

Sometime, we should upgrade our system for the system can be better

Upgrade MariaDB Server on CentOs 7

# Note: Sometime goes wrong we upgrade so we have to :
– Stop MariaDB database Server
– Backup configure file  /etc/my.cnf*
– Backup all your databases
# We will use backup config file and backup database to rollback if it has problem

Update yum MariaDB repository config

vi /etc/yum.repos.d/MariaDB.repo
baseurl = http://yum.mariadb.org/10.3/centos7-amd64    # Change version 10.2 –> 10.3   How to upgrade & downgrade MariaDB on CentOs 7# systemctl stop mysql
# yum update
How to upgrade MariaDB 10.2 to 10.3 on CentOs 7
To check all packages related to MariaDB using:
rpm -qa | grep -i ‘^MariaDB’

# yum remove MariaDB-server
# Install new MariaDB-Server version
# yum install MariaDB-server

systemctl start mysql.service

About 7 steps to finish all upgrade. Remember, that the mysql process must running before you start upgrade
mysql_upgrade -u root -p
